===================Disk Copy 2.3 INSTALLATION===================== Disk Copy 2.3 does not need an installation in the usual sense. In fact, it is necessary to create a bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD before using Disk Copy 2.3 for the first time. The following chapters describe how to create a bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD. 1. Creating a bootable CD/DVD The Disk Copy 2.3 software package contains a so-called ISO image in the file DC2.iso. It can be used to create a bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD with any operating system using CD writing software of your choice as far as it supports creating CDs from an ISO image. Further information can be found in the manual of your CD writing software. 1). Extract the file DC2.iso from the Disk Copy 2.3 software package. 2). Start your CD writing software and choose 'Create CD from image file' (or similar, according to the respective CD writing software). 3). Specify the file DC2.iso as image file. 4). Insert a blank CD into the according drive. 5). Write the CD. Tip for linux user: The easiest way of creating a bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD under Linux is using the software tool cdrecord with the following syntax: cdrecord DC2.iso. After having accomplished these steps you have created a bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD. From this CD you can start Disk Copy 2.3 on any PC with a bootable CD/DVD drive as described in Booting from the bootable CD/DVDs. Note: Generally the instructions provided above for creating a bootable CD using the ISO image can also be adapted to DVDs. 2. Booting from the bootable CD/DVDs Insert the bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD into the corresponding drive. Switch on the computer or reboot it. Make sure that the BIOS boots from the respective CD drive. After boot from the bootable Disk Copy 2.3 CD, a pre-start menu will appear.
